Our Programs
The CBSW has numerous programs that help us in our mission to engage, connect, and empower Black social work students and professionals. Whether you are a social work student or a seasoned professional, we have opportunities for you to plug in and get connected with other Black social workers. We need each other! We hope you will connect with us at one of our events or at one of our programs below.

Mentoring is at the heart and soul of the CBSW. We believe in empowering the next generation of social workers! Click for more information about our mentoring program and how you can join us!

Campus Chapters provide a space for Black social work students and their supporters to connect, to advocate, and to " be the change" on their campuses. Read more on how to start a chapter.

We believe in student development! Each year, we give away scholarship money to a CBSW student. The James and Elaine Reese Legacy Scholarship promotes academic excellence and service to the community.

We love to celebrate the amazing social work role models all around us. We exemplify Black excellence. Annually we recognize five individuals who are making a deep impact in the social work community!

Networking and connecting is integral to the Black community. We take time each semester to network in Nashville, and we are expanding our reach to other cities!

Do you like to learn from Black social work experts? Do you like to connect with new people and inspire the next generation of social workers? Do you like to be authentically yourself? WE WANT YOU AT OUR CONFERENCE!

If you are looking for a Black social work therapist or someone to conduct your supervision, then you have come to the right place. All of these therapists are CBSW members who are ready and willing to serve you!

The CBSW is a non-profit and relies on the generous donations of individuals, businesses, and grants to provide programs. Join us by donating to our bowling fundraiser to support our efforts!

Every social work student needs to complete a field practicum. We have developed a comprehensive internship program for a student who is passionate about racial justice, leadership, and non-profit management.
