call for proposals for 2026 is now open!

“UpRISE: Elevating Our Power, Advancing Liberation”| 3/6/26 | Nashville, TN
The CBSW is excited to announce the 6th Annual CBSW Conference. The conference will take place in Nashville, TN on 3/6/26, with pre-conference activities taking place on 3/5/26. This year’s theme is: “UpRISE: Elevating Our Power, Advancing Liberation.” Consider building your professional network and influence by submitting a proposal for the conference! Professionals and students are encouraged to submit proposals. Our committee utilizes a blind-peer review process by which to assess proposals. We are looking for creative topics that are driven by data and that impact the Black community. Due to the high number of proposals we receive, we encourage individuals to present together.
Proposals will be accepted in the following formats:

Interactive workshop (60 minutes)

Panel Presentation/Discussion (60 minutes): Maximum of 4 people on the panel.

Proposal criteria: (Please gather all of this information prior to accessing the Proposal Link). The Proposals will be submitted via a Google Document.

Name, Credentials, CBSW Membership Status, and Contact Info for each presenter

Presentation Format: Workshop or Panel

Presentation Theme: (Clinical, Macro, Leadership, Ethics, Well-being )

Title of presentation: 15 words or less
-
Abstract (brief summary of your proposal, which will be used in the conference materials): 100 words or less

Three Objectives for your presentation

Proposal describing your workshop in detail: 1,000 words or less as a Word Document or a 3 minute recorded presentation (audio only) *Include how you plan to engage the attendees

Proposals are due on August 31 by 11:59PM CST. Proposal decisions will be communicated via email to the primary presenter on or around September 30.​

The proposals are a Blind-Peer Review. Therefore no identifying information will be shared with reviewers so that decisions are as objective as possible.
